15 Years of Service!!!

The April 2007 Crew,  thank you for your support!!!!

The North Carolina Department of Transportation has recognized the NCBBA for 15 years of continuous service!

The NCBBA, in conjunction with the National Park Service, sponsors three beach cleanup operations during the year. Operation Beach Respect is, perhaps, the NCBBA´s most important program. Operation Beach Respect exhibits to the National Park Service, the NCBBA´s ongoing commitment to protect the environment of the Cape Hatteras National Seashore for all citizens to enjoy. During the cleanup operations, NCBBA members are present at all access ramps to pass out literature and garbage bags to those planning to use the beach. The NCBBA asks that each person take a bag, and police the area they intend to use for litter. Upon leaving the beach, it is requested that they deposit the bag at the ramp entrance for National Park Service employees to pick up for disposal.

In addition to the beach cleanup, the NCBBA participates in the North Carolina Adopt-A-Highway program. The NCBBA has the responsibility to clean the roadside running from Coquina Beach down to the Oregon Inlet Fishing Center. The support received from NCBBA members during Operation Beach Respect is appreciated by your elected officials, as well as the National Park Service. Participation in this program is a great way to meet new people, and establish a sense of fellowship among the membership. The dates for beach cleanups are displayed on our Calendar of Events. The Director in charge of Operation Beach Respect is Ms. Tracey Oates.

We would sincerely appreciate more volunteers to assist with our efforts in Operation Beach Respect. For more information on OBR, you may find these resources useful:
